If you ask people what their idea of the Polish food is, everyone (at least in Italy) will associate it with sausages and of course with wódka (the main stereotype Italians have about Poland). A disgusted look would probably appear on their face. But what can you aspect from the most “proud of their cuisine” country???

My EVS project takes place in Wojkowice. I’m sure the first question that comes into your mind is : “Where is Wojkowice????”. I can’t blame you. Even most people I met in Katowice(the biggest town of this district) had never heard about it. For some of them it was like “I know where it is and it’s enough”.

Solo dopo tre mesi di soggiorno in Polonia (forse di più, ma non ho il coraggio di calcolare esattamente!!!) mi metto finalmente a scrivere le mie impressioni. Il fatto è che, almeno per me, le impressioni all’inizio sono solo sensazioni fluttuanti, che non riescono a delinearsi concretamente e per questo non sono nemmeno troppo riconoscibili. Solo dopo qualche tempo si identificano come tali e le puoi riconoscere…a questo va aggiunto il fatto che non è mia abitudine metterle per iscritto. Ma stavolta lo farò, perché può essere per me spunto di ulteriore riflessione.
